# Put ads on Google Maps in a Google Ad Grant
## Your Google Ad Grant can put your ads onto Google Maps, including in the Google Maps app.
Which non-profits benefit most? Museums, galleries, churches, animal shelters, community cafes, charity shops. If your reach is mainly local, particularly if you want visits or support from your area, and especially if you want people to drop in, then this is a useful technique.
Few non-profits seem to be aware that they can do this, and it's only been possible since early 2025.
Only a Performance Max campaign can put ads onto Google Maps, not a Search campaign. First you're going to need to set up a Google Business profile. Once that's approved you can link to it and set up a **location asset** in Google Ads.
Watch the video walkthrough below to see how this works.
